Happy Friday, friends! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and aren’t feeling too much of a turkey hangover today. Since I have to work today, Ryan and I stayed in Charleston. I cooked a big breakfast, and we watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then, I took the BEST two hour nap on the couch with the dogs, and it felt great to just relax. After I woke up, we went to see “Knives Out” and y’all… the line for Belk was already formed around the store at 3:45pm. After the movie (which was great), we came home and ate the pot roast I had been cooking in the Crock Pot. After that, I got out the Christmas decorations and started decorating. I’ll finish and add more over the weekend, and we’ll get our tree next week, but I’m definitely in the Christmas spirit now!
Because I’m feeling very Christmasy, I wanted to round up a few of my favorite holiday books for you. I love reading a Christmas book during Christmastime, and some of my favorite authors have written holiday books.
A Lowcountry Christmas by Mary Alice Monroe. This is such a sweet story set in the Charleston Lowcountry area, and I love it! It’s a novella to accompany Monroe’s The Summer Girls.
Blue Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews.
Christmas Bliss by Mary Kay Andrews
Let It Snow by Nancy Thayer.
A Very Nantucket Christmas by Nancy Thayer.
Winter Street by Elin Hildebrand, plus the other books in this series: Winter Stroll, Winter Storms, & Winter Solstice.
One Day In December by Josie Silver.
If you know of any other festive holiday books that I should check out this holiday season, please let me know in the comments. If you read any of these, please let me know what you think!
Merry Christmas Season, everyone!
